Dongji Prayers
Dates specified for each year
Buddhist prayers offered at temples for the winter solstice.
How did it begin?
Temples offer these prayers around Dongji, the winter solstice. The prayer observance is listed separately from the solar term itself. This calendar uses the winter-solstice date in Korean Standard Time as a reference; actual prayer periods and times depend on each temple.
