Shakyamuni Buddha Observance
Every lunar month: days 30 (including leap months)
A monthly observance for prayer and practice dedicated to Shakyamuni Buddha, on lunar day 30.
How did it begin?
The names and dates follow the Jogye Order’s ritual reference for the ten monthly observance days, dedicated to purity and practice. Calendar reference dates include leap lunar months; actual ceremonies and leap-month practices vary by temple. A day-30 observance is omitted, not moved, in lunar months with no day 30.
