Dipankara Buddha Observance
Every lunar month: days 1 (including leap months)
A monthly observance for prayer and practice dedicated to Dipankara Buddha, on lunar day 1.
How did it begin?
The names and dates follow the Jogye Order’s ritual reference for the ten monthly observance days, dedicated to purity and practice. Calendar reference dates include leap lunar months; actual ceremonies and leap-month practices vary by temple. It shares its date with first-day guardian-deity prayers, but the ritual names are distinct.
