How did it begin?
The Jogye Order designates lunar February 8, Renunciation Day, through February 15, Nirvana Day, as a period of intensive practice. This calendar marks all eight days, including both endpoints, in the ordinary lunar month. Check individual temples for actual practice programs and ceremony schedules.
