How did it begin?
This traditional Korean holiday on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month celebrates the harvest and gives thanks to ancestors. Also called Hangawi, it carries customs such as visiting ancestral graves, making songpyeon rice cakes and enjoying traditional games.
