절월·일진 기준
Five phases strength
A traditional five-part description of how the day’s phase relates to the month’s phase. The five phases are wood, fire, earth, metal and water; their relationship supports the overall assessment.
What does it mean?
旺 denotes flourishing, 相 support, 休 rest, 囚 confinement and 死 decline. 旺 and 相 support auspiciousness, 囚 and 死 support inauspiciousness, and 休 is neutral. This does not override principal influences or assess a person’s birth chart.
How is it determined?
Stems map to wood (甲乙), fire (丙丁), earth (戊己), metal (庚辛) and water (壬癸). Spring uses wood, summer fire, autumn metal and winter water; 辰戌丑未 months use earth. Equal phases give 旺, generated by the month 相, generating the month 休, controlling the month 囚 and controlled by the month 死. The month follows solar terms rather than lunar months. For 2020–2050, it changes on the Korean Standard Time calendar date of each jie boundary, applying to the whole date rather than the exact instant. Missing required solar-term data leaves the value unavailable. WhatDay365 uses the device’s local date, changing the day at midnight (00:00). Lunar and day-pillar conversion supports Gregorian dates 1000-02-13 through 2050-12-31; dates outside this range are not estimated.
