Heavenly virtue combination (天德合)

A Korean folk custom used when choosing dates for moving or major events.

除, 危, 定, 執, 成 and 開 count as supporting auspicious officers. Differences between traditions have less weight than principal influences.

建, 滿, 平, 收 and 閉 count as supporting inauspicious officers. 破 is not counted again because it already constitutes month break.

The day-stem phase is 旺 or 相 relative to the solar-month phase under the use-day convention. 辰, 戌, 丑 and 未 months use earth.

The day-stem phase is 囚 or 死 relative to the solar-month phase under the use-day convention. 休 is neutral.

Moving references use explicit favorable and prohibited entries for 般移・移徙 in traditional texts. They are separate from Son-eomneun days.

Marriage references use explicit favorable and prohibited entries for 嫁娶. Personal compatibility and birth charts are not assessed.

Opening references use explicit entries for 開市, traditionally opening a market or business. They do not predict business outcomes.

Contract references use traditional entries for 立券・交易, drawing up documents and transactions. Legal or financial suitability is not assessed.

Funeral references use traditional 安葬 entries for interment. They cover selected burial-stage rules, not every part of a modern funeral.

Ritual references use traditional 祭祀 entries. Unlike other activities, exceptions for month break or four wastes alone are distinguished from prohibitions when influences overlap.

Grave-relocation references use selected 啟攢 rules for opening the former burial in preparation for relocation. New interment is a separate stage covered by 安葬.
